24plus manages central hub autonomously as of now

General cargo alliance 24plus takes over business activities of the insolvent Hub24 GmbH in Hauneck:

24plus Systemverkehre Beteiligungsgesellschaft GmbH has bought the working capital from the insolvency of the previous central hub operator Hub24 GmbH, effective 1 October 2011. The new activities will be integrated into the new 24plus Hub-Logistics GmbH & Co. KG. Moreover the 24plus Hub-Logistics GmbH & Co. KG took over all 83 employees from the previous hub operation. The management of the new hub operating company lies in the hands of Peter Baumann (53), who is also the Managing Director of 24plus-Verkehrsgesellschaft, and Steffen Renner (45), who had been active as a managing hub coordinator at 24plus. On the one hand 24plus dismisses its previous outsourcing model for central hub operation, and on the other hand the enterprise ends the insolvency of the hub operator and the resulting state of uncertainty.

The former Hub24 GmbH had been the exclusive operator of the 24plus central hub Hauneck. The company slid into insolvency in 2008. This had been the consequence of the bankruptcy of the parent company konzept Logistik AG and the resulting breakdown of the complete konzept-Logistik group. The insolvency was the consequence of problems at other locations.

In 2008 the hub in Hauneck had been expanded within a three months construction period from 3,850 to 5,200 m² throughput area. Throughput capacity thus rose from 180 tons per hour to 250, the number of gates increased from 75 to 104. The hub allows handling an annual volume of around 200,000 tons of general cargo.
