30 years of logistics for Konica Minolta „Made by BLG“

BLG Logistics Group operates European distribution centre for Konica Minolta in Emmerich in the Lower Rhine area

BLG Logistics Group (Bremen) and their customer Konica Minolta are now looking back on a logistics cooperation lasting 30 years. The office electronics business was the first real logistics contract for BLG which originally worked only as a port company. The cooperation started in 1980. On 27 September 2010 they will celebrate their 30-year partnership anniversary together wtih top managers of the Japanese multinational in Bremen – where the business for Minolta started 30 years ago.

Since 2008 the BLG Logistics Group has operated the European distribution centre (EDC) for Konica Minolta in Emmerich in the Lower Rhine area. This is where copying machines and printers of all sizes and categories, attachments and accessories as well as different supplies and auxiliary equipment such as operating instruction manuals, reference books and cables are stored, consolidated, commissioned and delivered. All European and several African countries are supplied from this location.

The core business of the BLG Logistics Group is receiving of the containers from Asia. This is followed by professional unpacking of the appliances. Other standard service features are warehousing and on-time despatch to the customers in the specified design and quantity. The orders are sent electronically from the European Konica Minolta headquarters in Langenhagen near Hannover. The transport of the containers from Rotterdam to Emmerich takes place on river barges.
