AeroLogic starts flight operations in June
AeroLogic Ltd. started just according to the “timetable”. The joint venture of DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo is to start operating regular flight services in June 2009. Until the end of this year the company will operate four brand-new freighters of the Boeing 777-200LRF range, each of them offering an airfreight capacity of around 100 tons. This was announced last week by Carsten Spohr, Chief Executive Officer of Lufthansa Cargo. From its “homebase” at the Leipzig-Halle Airport AeroLogic will operate regular freighter services to intercontinental destinations. In the initial stage operations to Tashkent, Bahrain, Delhi, Singapore and Hong Kong will be on the schedule. The services will first and foremost transport consignments for DHL.
