Aramex acquires two companies in Kenya

In line with its commitment to expand its footprint in emerging markets, Aramex has acquired Kenya-based OneWorld Courier and In-Time Couriers.

OneWorld Courier serves the Kenyan market, as well as East Africa and a range of global destinations.

Nairobi-based In-Time Couriers provides domestic delivery services.

The company’s acquisitions in Kenya follow a series of recently formalised international partnerships and acquisitions, including in Turkey, Malaysia, Bangladesh and Vietnam.

Through its presence in Kenya, Aramex plans to introduce a broad portfolio of logistics and transportation solutions, such as 3PL centres in Nairobi and Mombasa, international and domestic express delivery, freight forwarding, secure records and information management solutions, and e-services such as e-commerce solutions and Shop&Ship, the company’s online shopping delivery service.

According to Samer Gharaibeh, Aramex CEO for Africa, the company believes that these two Kenyan acquisitions will provide it with a strategic foothold in a market that also serves as a bridge between East Africa and Asian markets such as China and India, leading to a significant, sustained contribution to Aramex’s global operations.
