Asotra has a new majority shareholder

RCA subsidiary Express-Interfracht sells 50 per cent of its shares in the Stockerau-based forwarding company Asotra to Terminal Holding:

The shareholders of the Asotra Internationale Speditions- und Transportgesellschaft m.b.H. is about to be resturctured. The previous majority shareholder Express-Interfracht (a company of the Rail Cargo Austria AG) reduces its shares of the enterprise from 51 to 1 per cent.

The shares are sold to Terminal Holding, who will hold 99 per cent of the share capital and who shows interest in a partnership with a CIS rail company, according to informed circles. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Asotra was established in 1976 as a joint venture of the Sojuzvneshtrans group (SVT) and the forwarding companies Danzas and Express. In 1994 the enterprise moved from Vienna to Stockerau. At the change of the years 2006/07 the forwarding company Express-Interfracht acquired the majority holding. In the past fiscal year the company with 16 employees generated a turnover of around EUR 15 million. The management lies in the hands of Ernst Haiböck.

The name Asotra represents a specialist of organising and handling transports from Austria, Switzerland, Italy and western Europe to eastern Europe and to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The service portfolio covers transportations by rail, truck and air freight as well as project logistics and special solutions in the segment of temperature controlled pharmaceutical logistics. The 1,400 m² warehouse at the company headquarters in Stockerau has three cold storage segments of 160 m² in total, where sensitive pharmaceuticals can be stored. The facility is located on a 14,000 m² plot and serves as a hub for goods transportation to the CIS.
