Augustin Network expands its truck fleet

Augustin Network establishes carrier management with its preferred partner freight companies

In response to the positive business development Augustin Network enlarges its own fleet. The internationally acting transport management company based in Straßwalchen near Salzburg has acquired 100 new Mercedes trucks in October. The fleet, moved by around 700 drivers, thus grows by 50 to 560 tractor units; 50 trucks are replaced by new vehicles. All new units meet the Euro 5 standard of the European union and are equipped with modern GPS and telematic devices.

For 2011 they plan to further expand the truck fleet by more than five per cent, as Jürgen Huth, Managing Director Augustin Freight GmbH, announces. In parallel the logistics service provider increases its refrigerated semi trailer capacities by 50 units before the end of this year. Moreover, Augustin Network establishes a carrier management together with its preferred partner freight enterprises. These autonomous carriers, operating 10 to 40 trucks, are obliged to work according to the same quality standard as the group and are able to benefit from the group’s advantages as well.

Owned by the Augustin Quehenberger group, also based in Straßwalchen, since 2009, the enterprise has around 1,000 employees in seven countries and 13 locations, who generate an annual turnover of EUR 140 million.
