Austrian Post grows in B2B parcel segment

Parcel & Logistics Division of Austrian Post achieved increases in revenue and sales record on the domestic market in 2012

2012 had been a goods financial year for Parcel & Logistics Division of the Österreichische Post AG. With 65 million national parcels sent, last year’s figure was beat by 9.4 per cent. The company was able to defend its market leadership with private customers in Austria and increase its share in the B2B market to 22 per cent. With EUR 858.1 million revenues (up 4.8% on 2011) EBIT amounted to EUR 25.3 million, which means an EBIT margin of 2.9 per cent.

Expansion of the fulfilment performance in the new business segment Post Logistics Services contributed substantially to the expansion of the market position in the B2B parcel segment. In the reporting period the subsidiary trans-o-flex achieved growth in pharmaceutical logistics, in line with efficiency increases. In CEE, where all holdings were positive, the enterprise boosted expansion of the private customers sector. Volume of subsidiaries abroad rose 2.3 per cent to 64 million parcels and pallets compared to 2011. This development is the result of focussing on quality growth.
