Austrian Post separates from trans-o-flex Benelux

Dutch and Belgian companies of the trans-o-flex group about to be integrated into the PostNL Parcels organisation

PostNL Parcels intends to acquire the Dutch and Belgian enterprises of the trans-o-flex group from the Austrian Post. This takeover will improve the position of PostNL in the Belgian Business-to-business (B2B) market and strengthens the position as a provider of multi coli dispatch services in the Netherlands. “No further details will be disclosed“, the Austrian Post writes in a press release.

The acquisition is part of the strategy of PostNL Parcels to strengthen its presence in the Benelux market for multi coli parcels. The Belgian trans-o-flex group has a good market position in the B2B segment and a leading role in the pharmaceuticals industry. Moreover the Dutch trans-o-flex company ads its parcel and pallet business unit to the service portfolio of PostNL Parcels, thereby completing the existing network and the commercial competence in the pharmaceutical industry and consumer electronics industry. Simultaneously with this acquisition PostNL buys also 7.2 per cent of the shares of the EURODIS network, present in 34 European countries.

Last year trans-o-flex Netherlands and Belgium generated a turnover of about EUR 50 million. Together they moved just over 14 million parcels and 550.000 pallets. Their network comprises nine warehouses and more than 250 employees.
