BVL Austria: Sustainability Award for Logistics awarded to Audi AG

Audi AG receives Sustainability Award for Logistics for its exemplary reduction of the consumption of resources in the process chain

Audi AG is the first winner of the Sustainability Award for Logistics from BVL Austria and BVL Germany. The award ceremony took place in the frame of the 28th Logistics Dialogue of BVL Austria, on 15 March in Vienna. The award honors Audi AG for their exemplary reduction of the consumption of resources in the process chain. For Audi Michael Hauf, Head of Brand Logistics, and Dr. Dagobert Achatz, Environmental Officer and Director of Environmental Protection, took over the certificate and received the prize sculpture.

Audi counts on transport by rail and is of the first user of the ecological program "Eco Plus" of DB Schenker. The company joins its inbound shipments throughout the group and handles them on cross-regional consolidation centers. Packaging and containers are utilised optimally. When planning new buildings Audi puts a major emphasis on the their energy efficient design.

"The Sustainability Award for Logistics honours logistics projects with environmental effects, economic benefits and role models for society," says Prof. Raimund Klinkner, CEO of BVL Germany. "The award recognises companies and organisations that identify relevant results in all three pillars of sustainability – environmental, economic, and social responsibility – and have been successfully implemented sustainable supply chain projects," added Stiftner, President BVL Austria.
