Logistics enterprise Kuehne + Nagel received award for global cold chain training programme developed in Switzerland
The globally operating logistics group Kuehne + Nagel has implemented a worldwide cold chain education programme. Therefore the company recently received the “Life Science Logistic Partner of the Year 2012“-award. The prize was presented to Kuehne + Nagel at this year’s „IQPC Cool Chain Logistics Europe 2012“ (IQPC – International Quality & Productivity Center).
Nomination criteria included such factors as patient safety, risk reduction, process orientation, cost optimisation, communication, responsiveness and overall service levels as well as the commitment to the pursuit of excellence and industry best practice.
When developing the programme, Kuehne + Nagel Switzerland worked closely together with a leading company from the pharmaceutical industry. Experts of the Swiss national Kuehne + Nagel organisation attended cold chain trainings in the field of handling temperature sensitive pharmaceutical products across all modes of transport. Based on this know-how, the Kuehne + Nagel group developed its own education concept with clearly defined industry specific standards and best practice solutions. This programme has now been implemented throughout the worldwide Kuehne + Nagel network.
