AWT Group: New logistics group for Central and Eastern Europe

New World Resources Transportation renamed into AWT Advanced World Transport Group

A new brand is appearing on the market for transport and logistics services in Central and Eastern Europe. It is the Advanced World Transport a.s., AWT Group in short. The company based in Ostrava in the Czech Republic follows the footsteps of the New World Resources Transportation B.V. on 1 May 2010. The latter named had hit the headlines with numerous company-takeovers in the past years – including Cechofracht, Container Terminal Brest, Spedi-Trans and Viamont.

The parent company AWT Group pullst the strings of several operative enterprises. AWT Cechofracht acts as a competence centre for international forwarding services. AWT Spedi-Trans attends to the rail logistics market segment. Further companies act under the names AWT Blue Trucks and AWT VADS. The service portfolio is divided into the main areas road and rail transportations, intermodal transport, warehousing and distribution services.

According to their own statements the AWT Group is the biggest private provider of rail cargo transportations in the Czech Republic. As for road transportations the company counts among the medium-sized providers. Container terminals in Ostrava-Paskov and Brest (Byelorussia) and repair garages for locomotives and rail wagons are also part of their service portfolio.
