Bischof Transport opens logistics platform in Germany

Location in Garching of the food logistics specialist Bischof (Feldkirch) is to start operating on 25 October

 

The Bischof Transport GmbH is about to start an important major project. The family enterprise from Vorarlberg has set up a logistics centre in Garching near Munich in the past months. With effect from 25 October the new location serves as a central hub for disposition to Germany.

The services of the new location are ranging from activities in the fields of incoming/outgoing groupage cargo, storage, order picking and packing. In addition to a 2,200 sq. m. throughput area (including 700 sq. m. for cooled goods at plus 4 degree Celsius) a warehouse with 700 pallet slots for cooled goods and 2,200 pallet slots for dry goods will be available from the start of operation. The fleet will start with 35 trucks ranging from 3.5 to 40 tons total weight.

Bischof Transport GmbH based in Feldkirch in Vorarlberg offer full logistic solutions for cooled and deep freezed food products in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Established in 1974 the family enterprise operates about 150 cooled vehicles every day. More than 200 employees at the locations Feldkirch, Schaan (Principality of Liechtenstein), Sennwald (Switzerland) and now also in Garching operate around 8,000 deep freeze and 5,000 multi temperature pallet slots.
