Boeing signs new ten year extension contract with DB Schenker Logistics

New contract extends relationship which stretches back more than 20 years at London Heathrow

Aircraft manufacturer Boeing has signed a new ten year contract extension with DB Schenker to manage its 3PL parts distribution centre at London Heathrow.  The contract involves managing the distribution of parts for all Boeing aircraft types and sizes from B717 through to B747 and soon will include the B787.

Under the terms of the contract Schenker Limited, the UK arm of the global logistics provider, will supply parts to every region of the world – in addition to the UK and Ireland – from its London distribution centre, a fact which underscores London’s strategic importance to Boeing as its critical European gateway.

Boeing and Schenker Limited have been working together on international parts distribution for more than 20 years.  The company has operated the London distribution centre on Boeing’s behalf since the day it opened.  A dedicated team is employed to manage the Boeing parts facility under National Logistics Manager, Gareth Thomas.

Says Schenker Limited’s Managing Director, Jochen Mueller: "We are proud and pleased to have once again proved our credentials to Boeing and that they have recommitted themselves to our specialist operation here in the UK".

Adds Boeing’s Senior Manager SDC Operations, Wade Eldredge: "These are exciting times to be working together with DB Schenker as the latest Boeing airframes are soon to be introduced and London will once again be at the heart of parts distribution for these new types".
