BRP is working on a new ro-ro link to Russia

Planned ro-ro liner service of Bulgarian River Shipping JSC to ship Russian broad gauge wagons to Europe
 
Together with a Russian partner company Bulgarian River Shipping JSC (BRP) is preparing to launch a railway ferry service across the Black Sea. They plan to establish a regular transport to ship Russian broad gauge wagons from/to Varna, Dragomir Kochanov, Executive Director, announced in Vienna. The persons in charge with BRP are thinking about using a ferry with capacity to carry 42 rail cars per departure. In the Port of Varna there is a loading station for broad and normal gauge wagons.
 
Established in 1935, privatised in 2006, Bulgarian River Shipping JSC with its headquarters in Russe has currently a staff of 450 at domestic locations and in Germany (Regensburg), Austria, Hungary and Serbia. The fleet of 100 barges and capacity of 108,000 tonnes, 23 push barges, each two tank vessels and ferries, three tug barges and two ro-ro barges is operates along the entire Rhine-Main-Danube corridor, with a focus on the lower Danube.
