Qatar Airways sells its holding in Cargolux Airlines International – total ambiguity about a new strong shareholder
 
Cargolux Airlines International is going through a delicate situation. Following some discrepancies regarding the election of the new CEOs Qatar Airways has put out tenders to sell its 35%-holding in the Luxembourgian air freight company. Since the announcement of this drastic measure the future of the enterprise is uncertain.
 
According to media reports in Luxembourg the main reason for Qatar Airways’ decision was a strategic meeting of the administrative board of Cargolux. In this meeting the CEO of the Arabian airline advocated a promotion of the interim CEO/CFO Richard Forson as the general manager of Cargolux. However the Luxembourgian shareholders declined this proposal.
