Cathay Pacific Airways: Air freight-boom in December
Strong finish brings a good end of the year for Cathay Pacific Cargo For Cathay Pacific Airways (Hong Kong) the year 2009 ended with a sharp growth in cargo and mail tonnage. Adding the services of Dragonair consignments with a total weight of 144,000 tons were carried in December. Thus the two airlines were up 25 per cent on the same month in 2008. In the full year Cathay Pacific Airways Cargo and Dragonair Cargo have carried 1.527 million tons of air freight and air mail around the globe. This means tonnage decreased 7.1 per cent on 2008. The freight load factor of the fleet increased 4.9 percentage points to 70.8 per cent. In December 78.6 per cent of the payload available in the aircrafts was used.
