CMA CGM increases rates
A new rate-scheme will become valid as of April 1, 2009, at the French shipping line CMA CGM. As the Management announced in a press release, prices for global container shipments will be increased. According to the release this measure concerns essentially the following services: Asia to Europe, Asia to Mediterranean Sea, India/Pakistan to Europe and Asia to South America. Details concerning the rates increases will be communicated on March 1, 2009. The CMA CGM Management explained the measures with freight rates that are no longer sustainable – in particular on the routes from Asia to Europe.
