AdBlue audit: World premiere at Hoyer

Hoyer Group sets another milestone in global bulk logistics

The logistics service provider Hoyer (Hamburg) has become the first company in the world to complete the audit programme for AdBlue distributors by the association of the German automotive industry, VDA. Independent auditors examined the entire AdBlue distribution chain including transport equipment and the analysis of product samples – from being manufactured until being delivered to the service station or filled into smaller containers for final use. Following the successful audit, Hoyer received a certificate confirming that its logistical services for AdBlue (including the necessary management system) are all conform to the applicable standard ISO 22241. The certificate is valid for three years.

Hoyer actually surpasses the already high demands of the standard. In order to ensure the complete cleanness of the transport containers, all units are “dedicated AdBlue only”, which means they are exclusively used for this product. With their fleet consisting of 40 special-purpose units (tank containers and semi-trailers), the enterprise carries the product both for manufacturers as well as for their distribution partners.

Hoyer has been involved in this business since AdBlue was introduced in 2005. The volumes forwarded have developed continuously. While at first one transport per month was demanded, the annual volume meanwhile exceeds 100,000 tons. The logistics concepts are varied and customised according to individual requirements of the clients. In most cases intermodal transport is used (30 tons in intermodal transport, 25 tons on the road). Each unit supplies up to twelve customers.
