Continued freight restoration programme with Evergreen Line

Evergreen Line increases rates on routes from Asia to Europe

In response to the customers’ demands for a continued comprehensive network of liner services, Taiwan based Evergreen Line announced further price adjustments. As the freight restoration programme initiated on 1 April 2009 still did not permit the shipping group to cover basic costs on the Far East and Indian Sub-Continent to Europe and Mediterranean Westbound Trade, further rate increases will be implemented as part of its general rate restoration programme.

The increases apply to all cargo and commodities, including reefers and special equipment shipped by the service from the Far East (including Japan) and Indian Sub-Continent to Europe and Mediterranean Westbound. As of 1 July 2009 rate increases for direct calling PODs will be USD 325/TEU and USD 375/TEU for non-direct calling PODs.
