Cuxport GmbH expands its service portfolio

Shortsea traffic for the wind power industry from the deep water port Cuxhaven

As of now Cuxport GmbH provides handling services for heavy and large building components for the wind power industry on the seaway. In the frame of these ro-ro shortsea transportations the port operator expands its portfolio for the wind energy branch and thus offers customers an alternative to the transport of components of facilities on the road.

At the beginning of September Cuxhaven handled rotor blades for wind power plants on behalf of its longstanding partner and first customer, the DFDS Seaways shipping company. Infrastructure in the port provides a maximum ramp utilisation of 350 tons and allows handling components with a maximum width of 8 metres and a length of 75 metres.

Cuxport GmbH operates a multi functional throughput terminal at the deep water port Cuxhaven with comprehensive roro handling options. The enterprise is a joint venture, held by Rhenus AG & Co. KG (74.9 per cent) and HHLA Container Terminals GmbH (25.1 per cent).
