Dachser’s three hubs-system serves as the basis for an innovative pan-European network

Dachser has started operating its third hub these days in Clermont-Ferrand. Following Überherrn in Germany, and Bratislava in Slovakia, the logistics enterprise has invested EUR 10 million into the new Eurohub project in France. “The three hubs-system including the new station in Combronde serves as the basis for an innovative pan-European network“, the headquarters announce.

„Paris is the economic heart of France, however the geographic centre is located in Combronde“, Bernhard Simon, spokesmen for the Dachser management, explains the selection of the location. In this geographic middle Dachser constructed a transhipment area of 7,00 m² and 98 loading bays as well as an three storeys office building on a 60,600 m² site.

This new Eurohub creates 100 jobs. It serves as a central logistics platform that links all branches in the French network within 48 hours. Every night, about 60 trucks will arrive at the goods transhipment centre. From here, shipments will be forwarded on directly to their target destinations. For the future daily transports between France and Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, Italy, Spain and Portugal are in the pipeline.
