Dachser takes holding in Azkar Group

Azkar Group from Spain and Dachser consolidate their partnership

The organisation portfolio of the Dachser Group contains a new name. The German transport and logistics service provider recently acquired 10 per cent of the shares of the Spanish Azkar Group. With this step the two enterprises are consolidating their international partnership that was started more than two years ago.

“Azkar is an important partner for us, who demands just as much from logistics as we do. Both enterprises are ideally supplementing each other concerning their philosophy and size. We assume that the financial investment into the partnership will upgrade this positive cooperation“, Michael Schilling, Managing Director of Dachser, said confidently.

Azkar Group was established in 1933 and evolved into the market leader for general cargo traffics and contract logistics on the Iberian Peninsula. With 5,000 employees at 73 own locations in Spain and Portugal the group achieved a turnover of EUR 400 million in 2008. The family-run enterprise is specialising in comprehensive Spanish and international general cargo traffics.
