Jan de Rijk: New regular intermodal service between Neuss and Wels

Jan de Rijk Logistics increases its intermodal transport service to the countries in Central and Eastern Europe
 
As of June 11 Jan de Rijk Logistics will start transporting 20 containers (45 foot) per week between Neuss, Germany and Wels, Austria. „This new intermodal connection will link our customers in the Benelux and Germany with Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia“, says Sebastiaan Scholte, CEO. The idea is to quickly ramp up to 50 containers per week in the coming months. 
 
In the last months the company has also increrased the weekly traffic between the Netherlands and Italy from 320 containers on its own company block train to 400 containers (45 foot). Sebastiaan Scholte comments: „This expansion of intermodal transport fits perfectly in our strategy to reduce our carbon footprint by 20% in 2015 compared with our 2010 levels’. „We expect to at least double our intermodal transport in the coming three years“.
