FM Logistic buys UNIVEG Logistics Russia

Takeover of UNIVEG Logistics Russia provides FM Logistic with access to the market segment of reefer transports for fresh produce
 
FM Logistic and the UNIVEG Group have announced signing a contract for the purchase of UNIVEG Logistics Russia by FM Logistic. With this acquisition, FM Logistic consolidates its position as logistics service provider in Russia and supplements existing business services by reefer transports for fresh produce. These state-of-the-art logistics services are targeted at large retailers.
 
“With this acquisition we can expand our business position and our logistics services to include reefer transport services while we continue to invest in Central and Eastern Europe and especially in Russia. The present UNIVEG Logistics Russia management will stay on board and we will continue the present business strategy. This will result in continuity for the employees and the customers. FM Logistics will also offer premium services in the areas warehousing and controlled-temperature transports to their customers in future”, says Jean-Christophe Machet, FM Logistics CEO.
 
By their own account, FM Logistic with headquarters in France, is a leading service provider for contract logistics and transport. Just a short while ago the company began with investments in service concepts and locations for the warehousing and the transport of fresh produce. FM Logistic presently operates ten platforms in Russia offering a total of 400.000 m2 of space and employing 5.500 people. 
 
UNIVEG Logistics Russia operates three platforms for the largest retailers close to Moscow which offer a total of 100.000 m2 of space. In 2012 they generated a turnover of 45 mill. Euros with a staff of 700.
