Dachser adds a new transhipment hall for industrial goods and ambient foodstuffs to its logistics facility in Kladno near Prague

The logistics service provider Dachser adds a new transhipment hall for industrial goods and ambient foodstuffs to its site in Kladno near Prague. At the same time a four-storey office building is also being built to accommodate the company’s head office in the Czech Republic.

The investment totals about EUR 9.1 million. By November 2012 Dachser is building a 3,600 m² facility for industrial goods and approximately 585 m² for foodstuffs. A maximum of 38 trucks, five of them for food logistics, can dock at the same time for loading or unloading. The two existing warehouses for industrial goods and food will continue to be used, so that upon completion of the construction work 14,500 m² of logistics space will be available in total.

“With the expansion of the Kladno branch office, we are laying the foundation for sustained further growth of one of our most dynamic country organizations”, comments Michael Schilling, Managing Director European Network Management & Logistics Systems at Dachser. The international forwarding group based in Kempten is present with its European Logistics, Food Logistics and Air & Sea Logistics business fields in the Czech Republic. The Czech country organization employs a staff of 310 employees at a total of eight locations.
