Loss in cargo volume at Vienna Airport
Air freight volume at Vienna Airport was 6.2 per cent lower in the first half of the year 2013 than in the same period last year
In the first half of the year 2013 Vienna Airport registered losses in cargo volume. In the period from January to June they handled 122,872 tonnes of cargo (air freight and trucking). This means a 6.2 per cent-loss on the first half of the year 2012. In June 2013 the airport handled 20,973 tonnes of air freight, which is 0.3 per cent less than in the same month of the previous year.
The number of passengers fell 1.7 per cent year-on-year in the first six months of 2013, to about 10.24 million passengers. Flight movements showed a decline of 6.4 per cent to 112,806 take offs and landings. Maximum Take Off Weight declined 5.1 per cent to 3.81 million tonnes, informs Flughafen Wien AG in a press release.
