DB Schenker: Climate-neutral general cargo for Kaiser+Kraft

Sustainable logistics is becoming a real competitive advantage for companies from trade and industry like Kaiser+Kraft

Hardly any company is as “green”as Kaiser+Kraft. Since 2014 Schenker Deutschland AG has been implementing all general cargo transports climate-neutrally on behalf of this company, supported by the Eco2Phant, DB Schenker’s symbolic “environmental manager” representing the potential saving of CO2. Until 2016 the Stuttgart-based B2B-mail order company providing warehouse and office equipment wants to become a model in terms of sustainability within its industry.

The Eco2Phant developed by DB Schenker helps analysing the CO2 emissions of all transportations provided along the entire supply chain from door to door. The result is then compared with the environmental goals of the customer Kaiser + Kraft. This allows experts to precisely derive to which extent CO2 emissions must be compensated in order to achieve climate-neutral shipments.

„With the support of DB Schenker we want to make all general cargo transports even more sustainable in the future“ says Rudolf Pflüger, Head of Logistics, Kaiser+Kraft Europa GmbH. The emissions are compensated via atmosfair, an internationally recognized environmental protection agency, which compensates the accumulated carbon dioxide and combats poverty in the Third World with selected projects.

Kaiser + Kraft, Europe’s leading B2B mail order company for warehouse and office equipment, offers its clients a comprehensive range of over

35,000 products, from simple handcarts to desks and workshop cranes or complete office containers. The Kaiser+Kraft group has branches in 23 European countries as well as in Japan and China and is a subsidiary of the Takkt group.
