DB Schenker obtains Volkswagen Group Award 2009
| Volkswagen Group honours DB Schenker DB Schenker’s “trophy collection“ is growing. As a premium supplier, the globally acting transport and logistics service provider obtained the "Group Award 2009" from the Volkswagen Group. Dr. Karl-Friedrich Rausch, transport and logistics Manager at DB Mobility Logistics AG, accepted the renowned prize in Wolfsburg. The "Volkswagen Group Award" is presented every year to honour the entrepreneurial achievement of their suppliers. Schenker Automotive Railnet (SAR), a company of the DB Schenker Rail Automotive, obtained the award for its commitment to planning and implementation of logistics concepts to supply the new Volkswagen-/Skoda plant in Kaluga, located 150 kilometres south of Moscow. Another awarded logistics partner of the automotive group is OJSC TransContainer, a subsidiary of the Russian railway company RZD, who cooperates closely with DB Schenker in a project.
