Deutsche Post sets the cat among the mail pigeons
Deutsche Post has launched the E-Postbrief – a secure portal for written communication that has the confidentiality and reliability of a traditional letter with the speed of email. The E-Postbrief allows private individuals, companies and public authorities to communicate securely with each other on the Internet. Costing the same as a letter – €0.55, E-Postbrief looks set to give the traditional postal services a run for their money. Users can choose to have the letter delivered to another E-Postbrief account, or be printed out by Deutsche Post and delivered by the mail carrier. Additional services like registered letters or colour-printed copies are available with an extra charge. It costs nothing for users to reserve their personal E-Postbrief address, which takes the format of a first name and a surname and the ending @epost.de. A number behind the surname prevents confusion when two people have the same surname. Users who registers early can secure the number they wish, or an address without a number if they are the first person to use that name. Users‘ identities are verified on registration, which eliminates anonymous e-mails, spam and address theft. SAP and Allianz collaborate on the E-Postbrief SAP plans to integrate the E-Postbrief into its HR management software SAP ERP HCM, enabling companies to send payslips to their employees electronically and securely, or as a hybrid E-Postbrief. SAP will also check software application scenarios for public authorities. Allianz also intends to integrate the E-Postbrief into its communication systems. In Germany alone, the insurance company has more than nineteen million customers. With the increasing demand for immediate responses, electronic interaction with the E-Postbrief will enable secure, binding written customer contact via the Internet. Quelle: eyefortransport |
