DHL increases freight shipment process visibility

With the increased flexibility of its new Active Tracing system, DHL Freight now offers customers an upgraded and uniform way to track shipments across Europe.

The new Active Tracing system not only enables customers to check the location of their road freight consignments, they can also receive up to thirty status information events from across the entire transportation chain, from pick-up to delivery.

Additionally, the additional Active Tracing apps for the iPhone and Android smartphones, designed especially for SMEs, means that customers are able to access this information anywhere, anytime.

According to Henning Goldmann, chief information officer at DHL Freight, the new application offers a significant benefit for companies that transport time-sensitive, temperature-controlled or premium goods.

DHL’s new online Active Tracing site, which combines all existing European tracing systems into one, is also particularly useful for MNCs that conduct business in various European countries. Customers can log on to receive constant updates about departures, current locations, destinations and arrival dates of their shipments. They can also look up shipping histories for the last six months, and can create their own personalised reports.
