duisport implements major automotive project for Audi

The world’s largest Audi CKD-export hub is being built in the Port of Duisburg; Schnellecke Logistics to operate the new facility
 
A new logistics project is being implemented in the Port of Duisburg on behalf of the automotive manufacturer Audi. The duisport group invests about EUR 25 million into the construction of around 53,000 m² of hall space. Based on a rental contract for several years the facility will be operated by Schnellecke Logistics based in Wolfsburg. About 500 new jobs will be created.
 
By mid-2013 Schnellecke will operate the largest Audi CKD-export hub in the world at the logport II area in the the Port of Duisburg. In cooperation with duisport about 800,000 m³ of automotive components per year, coming from 500 suppliers, will be packed and stuffed in containers and then prepared for transport by rail and waterway to the Western ports. The destinations of the boxes are China, India and also Mexico in the future.
