EDI innovation by Traxon for importations into the European Union

Traxon launches new solution for electronic summary declarations for importations to the European Union

Traxon Europe (Frankfurt) is taking the last preparations to start a product innovation. At the CNS Parntership Conference in Miami at the beginning of May the enterprise, dealing with development, implementation and handling of comprehensive electronic solutions for the air freight industry, will present its new product for electronic summary declarations for importations to the European Union, Traxon ACC Europe ICS. This module enables airlines and forwarders to transfer the required information to 27 European customs offices before the arrival of the goods via one single interface. In May 2009 the provider of air freight communication services has presented the product Traxon ACC Europe ECS, which meets the regulations for electronic export handling in the European Union (EU).

“Our new product is named Traxon ACC Europe ICS. One single interface provides the connection to all European customs authorities which meet the regulations for electronic customs handling. It permits automatic transfer of all information in the form of standard EDI messages to the customs authorities via a single interface. Our solution is cost efficient. Nor there are big investments necessary, neither a special training is required for the users. Maintaining costs are low, as everything is handled by one service provider and a single interface for all EU countries. Traxon ACC Europe ICS reduces the bureaucratic effort – day by day – and hence saves time and money for the enterprises. Required adjustments caused by changes in the EU customs regulations are carried out automatically”, explains Felix Keck, managing director of Traxon Europe.

The new product is particularly interesting for airlines and forwarders, who import goods into different EU countries. It covers all messages that have to be transmitted previously in the course of the new regulation (Entry Summary Declaration, Arrival Notification and Diversion Request). The user of Traxon ACC Europe sends the FWB, FHL and FFM messages of the relevant EU importations to Traxon. Traxon validates the information, translates message formats and prepares them according to the local requirements. The complete message is then transmitted by the provider of communication services to the competent customs authority. Answers of the customs authorities are translated and sent to the customer’s IT system on demand.
