Ennshafen: More block trains to Hamburg

Ennshafen and Port of Hamburg enhance cooperation

The Ennshafen port and Port of Hamburg have intensified their cooperation that has been existing for many years. On a joint event in Enns top representatives of both harbours (Claudia Roller/Hamburg and Mag. Christian Steindl/Ennshafen) announced the expansion of the blocktrain traffic between Upper Austria and northern Germany.

As of 14 September the blocktrain schedule between Ennshafen and Port of Hamburg is increased from 12 to 16 operations per week. The driving force of this expansion is the container operator IMS – Intermove Systems, who doubled its offer on the transport relation named above from four to eight blocktrains per week. The other eight services are operated with the Roland forwarding company. “We plan to further expand Hamburg-operations until the beginning of 2010“, announced Claudia Roller and Christian Steindl in Enns.
