Expanded India programme with Emirates

More winter Emirates flights from Dubai to Indian destinations

Emirates Airline expands its flight offer to India. The Dubai-based international airline increases the number of flight connections from Dubai to 10 destinations on the sub continent from 163 to 185 per week. The destinations Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram benefit the most.

Emirates increases the number of weekly flight connections to Ahmedabad from eight to eleven. Three daily connections between October and December 2009 make the company the leading carrier ex Chennai. The additional operations are the response to the increased demand for freight capacity for exportations to Europe, America, Africa and the Middle East.

Kolkata, the fourth-largest city of the country and the most important tourist centre in the north-east of India, will be served by five additional frequencies as of December 3, 2009. Kozhikode gains five flight connections per week. The connections to the south-Indian holiday destination Thiruvananthapuram will be increased from currently eight to twelve between October and December 2009.
