Fesco and BLG Logistics are cooperating in Russia

Fesco and BLG Logistics formed a logistics joint venture to serve the automotive industry in Russia:

A new cooperation came to life in Russia. The BLG Logistics group, an internationally acting logistics service provider based in Bremen, and Fesco, a Russian transport and logistics enterprise have recently signed an agreement on the creation of an automotive logistics joint venture. The initial amount of investments to the project is Euro 10 million.

Against the background of the significant growth potential of the Russian car market, the new company will develop integrated logistics solutions for the automotive industry in Russia, including port handling operation for vehicles in St.-Petersburg in cooperation with the JSC Sea Port of St. Petersburg, with current total area of 95,000 m² and the projected annual volume of 60,000 units in 2011, as well as a truck operation with the fleet of 31 motor vehicle trailers.

Fesco counts among the leading Russian transportation and logistics companies, combining own sea, rail and road transportation, port and in-land infrastructure to offer clients integrated solutions for containers, general and project cargo and vehicles. The group has its own fleet of 49 vessels with 850,000 tons capacity, 19,000 railcars, and annual infrastructure capacity of 400,000 TEU in containers, 5 million tons in bulk cargo and space for 100,000 cars, as well as a sales network in 16 countries around the globe. Consolidated revenue in the first half of 2011 amounted to USD 459.
