Freja Transport celebrates 30 years in the business

As a company in touch with its roots, the Denmark headquartered Freja Transport & Logistics group makes further investments in the future

On April 1st 2015 Freja Transport & Logistics A/S with head office in Skive (Denmark) celebrated its 30th anniversary. Since the beginning in 1985 in the town of Skive, the privately owned transport and logistics companies expanded the staff from 2 to 550 employees. Turnover in 2014 was EUR 300 million.

“Maintaining quality is the key factor. You’ve got to keep to your agreements, be open, honest and constantly comply with your customers’ wishes.“ These are the simple values with which Jørgen Hansen, founded the company in 1985. With head office in Skive and 15 addresses in the Nordic countries, Freja is the largest privately owned transport- and logistics company within its line of business today.

During the recent years Freja has invested much in the development of a national as well as a European distribution network of the highest quality. A system which is supported by “state of the art” IT solutions which simplify and automate the total supply chain.

In Helsingborg, Sweden, a new terminal of 3,500 m² was opened on March 1st of this year. In Denmark an expansion of the terminal facilities in Taastrup has started. This implies an expansion of the present cross dock facilities from the present 2,800 m² with further 3,400 m². Furthermore, the parking area for associated distribution trucks will be expanded by approx. 8,000 m² – all to handle a growth in the number of shipments of approx. 40 per cent compared to 2014.

The investment in the new facilities amounts to approx. DKK 30 million (EUR 4 million). The expansion is expected to be ready on July 1st 2015.
