Gefco Group expects thrilling year 2012

In the 2011 financial year the Gefco Group achieved record operating result and dynamic growth in Central and Eastern Europe
 
The Gefco Group is facing crucial decisions and reaffirmed their commitment for continued growth. 2012 should be a decisive year for the company, as the management estimates with respect to the parent company PSA Peugeot Citroën’s prospect of opening capital structure in February. The company plans to continue its development strategy through organic and external growth over the next ten years. This includes among other things the expansion of business activities in Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, East Asia and South America.
 
For the fiscal period 2011 Gefco reported a turnover of EUR 3.782 billion (up 12.9% year on year)., Growth in South America was particularly dynamic (+15%), in line with growth in Central and Eastern Europe (+25%). Turnover outside the PSA group rose by 19.2 per cent to EUR 1.45 billion. The operating profit reached EUR 223 million, which is a record high, and 5.9 per cent of total sales.
 
Gefco headquartered in Paris covers all facets of industrial logistics with its core competences logistics, GefBoxSystem, overseas, overland, vehicle distribution, customs clearance and fiscal representation. After the integration of Gruppo Mercurio the group has 10,300 employees in more than 300 locations worldwide.
