Port of Hamburg launches new online marketplace

PORTlog logistics portal goes online with the transport logistic 2013 trade fair in Munich

As of now the Port of Hamburg’s new shop-system www.portlog.de is online, and will soon be available in English and more languages as well. PORTlog allows both German and international customers to immediately locate the right service provider in the warehousing, logistics or transport fields for their imports and exports. The starting signal for the new portal was given at transport logistic 2013 in Munich by Senator Frank Horch, Hamburg’s Minister of Economics, Transport and Innovation, Jens Meier, CEO of Hamburg Port Authority, and Axel Mattern, Executive Board Member of Port of Hamburg Marketing.

By selecting a desired service, customers will receive a results listing of suppliers that can be filtered. More than 1,000 warehousing and logistics companies operate in the Hamburg region alone. Other than a Yellow Pages or similar directory, selected criteria can be transmitted direct to the provider as an enquiry about what’s on offer. With PORTlog, Port of Hamburg Marketing and Hamburg Port Authority aim to simplify marketing of logistics services in the Port of Hamburg. The search procedure is free of charge for enquirers.

Hafen Hamburg Marketing e.V., or HHM, an association under private law, is responsible for location marketing for the Port of Hamburg as well as for the numerous member companies of the association.
