Gefco: New multimodal service between Asia and Europe

Logistics company Gefco announces launch of a new door-to-door transport service on the connection from China to numerous European countries

Gefco China expands its intermodal sector with the launch of a new door-to-door transport service between Asia and Europe. With this new solution the Chinese subsidiary can now transport goods via a rail network to more than ten Asian and European countries.

Among them are Germany, Kazakhstan, Russia, Hungary, Uzbekistan and Byelorussia. „In comparison to airfreight, the national and international Gefco customers profit from transport costs which are reduced by 90 per cent and the significantly lower CO2 emissions”, the company announces in a report.

„More and more Chinese companies want to expand into foreign markets. Therefore it is Gefco’s priority in China to support the local companies with regard to their international development”, says Andrea Ambrogio, general manager of Gefco China. The recently launched new multimodal service harmonises perfectly with the logistics service provider’s claim to promote cross-border trade between China, Russia, Central Asia and Europe.
