Grand Alliance streamlines offer on the Far East-Europe routes

Capacity adjustments in the service concept of the Grand Alliance shipping companies on the routes linking Europe and Far East

The member shipping companies of the Grand Alliance adjusted their winter schedule for traffic between Europe and the Far East. In a press release the companies announce the seasonal adjustment of the capacity to the customer demand.

This affects the Loop D, which will offer a departure every two weeks. The temporary adjustment for westbound traffic that is valid since the calendar week 40 shall be so until March 2011. In parallel three more services with weekly departures between North Europe and the Far East are on the program. According to a statement of the Grand Alliance these services include all important ports of this region.

Established in 1998, Grand Alliance is a leading consortium of the international liner shipping business. The members of the alliance are the following shipping companies: Hapag-Lloyd (Germany), NYK Nippon Yusen Kaisha (Japan) and OOCL Orient Overseas Container Line (Hong Kong).
