H.D. Cotterell expands melting capacity in Hamburg

Hamburg-based specialist for the storage of different commodities H.D. Cotterell creates additional melting capacity for cacao liquor
 
To meet the increasing customer demand for melted cocoa liquor, the H.D. Cotterell company is expanding its melting capacity in 2013. “We pulled down the old hall 15 at Ellerholzdamm, to be able to construct a new melting facility on this premises shortly“, the Hamburg-based enterprise informs in a press release. Accordingly additional melting capacity for cocoa liquor will be created. “If required, we will sterilize the cocoa liquor there as well”, the company informs. From mid-2013 cocoa butter will be melted at the previous facility in hall 17. Therefore the melting volume will rise from 3 mt/hour to 9 mt/hour.
 
As a ‘Quartiermannbetrieb’ H.D. Cotterell GmbH & Co. KG is specialising on storage of different commodities such as cocoa, coffee, caoutchouc etc. The offer covers forwarding and storage services, and sea cargo control. Established in 1890 the traditional company has about 60,000 m² storage area in and outside the Hamburg free port. In total 20,000 m² thereof are certified for the cocoa and coffee exchange LIFFE, 4,000 m² are heated for caoutchouc storage. In addition to traditional pallet storage H.D. Cotterell offers space for the storage of about 40,000 mt raw bulk cocoa.
