Hamburg Süd/Aliança reconfigure their North Europe – South America service

New service concept of the container shipping companies Hamburg Süd and Aliança on the North Europe – East Coast South America trade

In response to changing market conditions, the container shipping lines Hamburg Süd and Aliança have decided to restructure their service between North Europe and East Coast South America. The new service configuration will operate with seven 7,100 TEU “Santa” class vessels by mid-April. These vessels are purpose-built for the South America trade and feature 1,600 reefer plugs.

The port rotation of the revised wekkly service operated by Hamburg Süd and Aliança will be as follows: Rotterdam – Tilbury – Hamburg – Antwerp – Le Havre – Sepetiba – Santos – Paranagua – Buenos Aires – Montevideo – Rio Grande – Itapoa – Santos – Tangier – Rotterdam. The new configuration will provide connections to the Hamburg Süd network serving Eastern and Western Mediterranean and Middle East destinations via the hub port Tangier. In addition the reconfigured service offers complete port coverage northbound, Paranagua, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and Pecem through slot arrangements.
