Higher frequency on Baltic schedule with Scandlines

Scandlines: Remarkable growth in Baltic traffic from Travemünde leads to more departures ex Travemünde

In response to the growing demand in Baltic traffic the Scandlines shipping company increases the frequency of departures from Travemünde to the Latvian ports Liepaja and Ventspils to six per week. Freight customers are now offered daily departures to the Baltic States, with the exception of Sundays.

Søren Poulsgaard Jensen, COO Scandlines: “The extended offer ex Travemünde allows us to meet the market requirements more exactly and provide more flexible solutions to our customers." The ferries deployed offer capacities between 1,550 and 2,255 loading metres.

Scandlines registered significant growth in freight transport between Travemünde and the Baltic States in 2011. The number of transported cargo units on the routes to Liepaja and Ventspils rose about 43 per cent year-on-year.
