Danish FDE acquires Vialtis group

Europe’s leading companies in VAT reimbursement and payment services for European roads and ferries to form a strong alliance

FDE from Padborg (Danmark), a leading provider of services to fleet operators, has acquired Vialtis group. Based in southern France, Vialtis provides financial services, particularly for international road haulage customers. The group has sales companies in a number of European countries and about 120 employees in total. Like FDE, Vialtis focuses in particular on road toll reimbursement and international VAT recovery.

”FDE and Vialtis are extremely complementary, which is why we have chosen to take this strategic step. We will be able to increase our customer portfolio considerably and, at the same time, will be able to provide even better service for our customers,” says Jacob Christian Nielsen, Chairman of the Board of FDE A/S.

Vialtis and FDE will continue to operate in the market under separate brands. The new ownership will mark the start of an exchange of best practices and close cooperation between the two companies’ relevant specialists. ”We have identified clear synergies between Vialtis and FDE. Our goal is the continued profitable growth of our core business,” says John V. Thomsen, who will act as Chief Executive Officer of both FDE A/S and Vialtis.

FDE is owned and operated as a subsidiary of the Danish Association for Road Freight Transport, ITD. Since 1981 the group has developed to a service provider with 11.500 customers in 40 countries. FDE has about 100 employees and the main activity is VAT refund.
