Hödlmayr expands its international rail logistics segment

As a multimodal, vehicle logistics specialist, Hödlmayr’s clearly defined priority is the continual expansion of the international rail logistics segment and in July Andreas Sundl assumed the operative management of Hödlmayr Rail Logistics GmbH. Andreas Sundl has worked for the automotive company, which is based in the Mühlviertel area of Upper Austria, for around ten years and as a managing director will also be responsible for the group subsidiaries Hödlmayr Logistics Austria, Hödlmayr Logistics Germany and Hödlmayr Logistics Czech Republic.

Previous to his career at Hödlmayr, Andreas Sundl (50) spent over four years in the management of Car Rail Logistics GmbH. Prior to that he was part of the ÖBB (Austrian Railways) freight management, where he last served as the head of marketing, business development, quality management and purchasing. Apart from Andreas Sundl, the Hödlmayr Rail Logistics management team now consists of Helmut Füßlberger as the commercial managing director and Thomas Gerstgrasser, who is in charge of sales and marketing.

Roughly 20 percent of Hödlmayr transports already take place by rail and as CEO Johannes Hödlmayr stresses: “With an investment in five new block trains comprised of 110 newly developed double-decker wagons with side covers, as well as the necessary manpower, we have created the framework needed for the positive development of our rail traffic. Consequently, we have again moved a step closer to realising our claim to complete intermodality.”
