Hoyer carries biodiesel by tank container for the first time

Brazilian biofuel manufacturer ships biodiesel from Santos to Rotterdam with support of the Hoyer group

The Hamburg logistics company Hoyer has carried biodiesel from Santos, Brazil, to Rotterdam by tank container, for the first time. In view of the comparatively small amount involved, the Brazilian biodiesel manufacturer opted to transport it this way.

This accomplishment will open up new market opportunities for the Hamburg logistics provider in its overseas transport operations. Particularly for small volumes of less than 1,000 tonnes, tank containers are a viable alternative to tank ships.

Hoyer is a traditional family enterprise and one of the world’s leading bulk logistics providers. 5,000 employees in over 80 countries support customers with sophisticated logistics solutions. The company operates more than 2,300 trucks, 3,100 trailers, 22,000 IBCs, 30,000 tank containers and numerous logistics sites with depots, washing facilities and workshops.
