Ikea extends its cooperation with JCL Logistics

The logistics service provider JCL Logistics strengthens its competence in the segment of end customer deliveries and expands its nationwide network in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and in the BeNeLux countries. In 2018, eight new bases are planned to be opened – including Hamburg, Cologne and Linz. This is the company’s respond to the requirements of the B2C market, where speed and service are decisive competitive factors.

“What distinguishes us from our competitiors is above all the tremendous effectiveness and flexibility of our network,” explains Josef Dib, Operations Director JCL Logistics Austria GmbH.”In recent years, we have invested a lot of time and energy to completely redesign our network so we can make the best possible use of our know-how and the synergies at our sites.”

The dynamic supply of end customers requires qualified employees with customer and target orientation for the delivery of goods weighing more than 32 kilograms. JCL Logistics enhances the delivery by adding an unpacking service and packaging disposal and, if necessary, assembling of furniture as well as installation and connection of household appliances.

“Of course, we are continuously confronted with new challenges that we are always happy to face and try to find the best possible solution for our customers,” explains Josef Dib. In addition to ever shorter transit times, this also means complete transparency and traceability for the customers.

Ikea is currently expanding its cooperation with JCL Logistics. Since 2011 JCL has been taking care of furniture stores, pick-up points and a large part of the Austrian e-commerce business in Austria, and from February 2018 the logistics company will also handle the processing of the Ikea shipments in parts of Germany. For this purpose, five new JCL depots were opened within four months, and reliable base partners were brought on board.
