JCL AG completes strategic sale in Germany

New owner of VELA AG changes name of JCL Logistics Germany and JCL Transport Germany into P&M Logistics and P&M Transport

JCL AG sells all shares of JCL Logistics Germany GmbH and the subsidiary JCL Transport Germany GmbH to VELA GmbH. The companies will act as P&M Logistics GmbH and P&M Transport GmbH, respectively. The JCL group will remain present in Germany, providing value added services and transport logistic services for the textile and furniture industry.

In order to be able to offer customers an ideal service portfolio, which is based on long term expertise, an intense focus on the strengths and know how of the JCL group is a major part of the company’s strategy. The sale was aimed at concentrating the transport and product logistic services and strengthening the company network, as the JCL group announces in a press release.

At the operational level, the transaction effects a split of the services according to core competencies. Services including the transportation of large musical instruments and unpacked furniture, will be carried out by the P & M companies in future. Two-man deliveries to private customers, installation and return management of furniture as well as the entire fashion distribution remain the domain of the companies JCL Fulfillment GmbH and JCL Transport Services GmbH.

JCL Logistics headquartered in Graz has more than 60 locations in 25 countries and 1,900 employees operating services in transport and product logistics as well as eCommerce. Specialising in the sectors Health, Chemical Industry, Retail, Automotive and Industry, the enterprise generates an annual turnover of about EUR 420 million. The enterprise assumes responsibility for products of the customers along the full supply chain.
