John Lewis pushes ahead with new-style delivery hub

John Lewis has begun construction of its new 50,000 sq ft customer delivery hub at Solihull Business Park, which it is developing in partnership with IM Properties.

When completed, the facility will act as John Lewis‘ first new-style regional customer delivery hub, supporting omni-channel orders throughout Birmingham and the West Midlands.

„By opening the new facility we are continuing to support the growth seen in our selling branch and online business across Birmingham while simultaneously returning space in our stores to retail use,“ said director of customer delivery operations at John Lewis, Mark Robinson.

„We are looking forward to working closely with IM Properties in the fulfilment of this exciting development.”

The building is located at IM Properties‘ ten acre development site, off the A34 Stratford Road, with junction 4 of the M42 a mile away, and Birmingham Airport and railway station within easy reach.

The project is due for completion in Autumn 2014, aiming to fulfil online orders ahead of Christmas.
