bayernhafen group and Container Depot Nürnberg GmbH formed TCA Trimodales Containerterminal Aschaffenburg GmbH:

On 2 January 2012, the container terminal at bayernhafen Aschaffenburg started "under a new flag". TCA Trimodales Containerterminal Aschaffenburg GmbH, a joint venture between Container Depot Nürnberg GmbH, Nuremberg (51 %) and Bayernhafen GmbH & Co. KG, Regensburg (49 %), took over the operation of the trimodal transshipment facility for intermodal transport. The managing directors of TCA are Bernd Trepte and Alexander Ochs.

TCA offers throughput of containers between vessels, railway and trucks. The terminal has currently a throughput capacity of 50,000 TEU per year. However, there is perspective for development to around 120,000 TEU per year for the TCA location Aschaffenburg. Maritime and continental transport shall be boosted. In addition to containers, also swap bodies and non-craneable semitrailers are handled. The TCA service range covers full and empty container depot, trucking, agency services, customs as well as all related additional services.

The trimodal container terminal Aschaffenburg is designed as 20,000 m² public, neutral terminal with non-discriminatory access. The facility includes a crane bridge with a maximum lifting capacity of 50 tons, a reachstacker with loader grabs for swap bodies and semitrailers of maximum 44 tons, and two loading tracks.
